Our Mission is to Transform educational skills to workforce skills. Our Vision is to Make GenZ Industry Ready.
G.R.O.W. initiative within the Outreach portfolio is focussed on helping today’s college and university students to gain professional experience.
The real profession life is very challenging, and PMI Mumbai Chapter provides an opportunity for today’s Gen Z students to have a sneak peak into the current challenging environment with following unique offerings.
This is a hybrid event (virtual or face to face) where the industry experts interact with the college students. The experts’ views provide the students better understanding on the current trending topics in the industry.
The experts also share their entrepreneur journey experience that helps the students to get an idea and prepare them for the entrepreneurship opportunities that they have in mind.
These events act as a catalyst to ignite the young minds thus shaping their career and lay a solid career foundation of their long career building journey.
"Career Pe Charcha" is an innovative initiative of PMI Mumbai chapter which brings the industry experts and young graduate/post graduate students on a common platform where the experts provide insights on how to choose and pursue a career that one is passionate about.
It is a series of discussions organized in collaboration with highly reputed education institutes across India.
We can consider this as an open house with industry experts - students can come in and ask questions on the career of their choice or make a decision on which career to choose.
The series of discussions began in collaboration with Dr. Moonje Institute of Management and Computer Studies, Nashik, Maharashtra. The discussion was well received by more than 50 students of the institute.
Another session was organized in collaboration with the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, Maharashtra where the seasoned industry experts shared their insights with more than 250 students of the institute.
Recently we conducted in collaboration with K.K. Wagh College of Engineering, Nashik, Maharashtra where more than 25 students benefitted from the insights shared by the seasoned industry experts who are also PMI Mumbai Chapter members and mentors for the students.
We also conducted sessions on resume writing where the experts guided the participants through examples on how to write a resume, how to make it impactful and what to expect at the interviews etc.
This is a 2-month long volunteering session where both the mentor and mentees work together as per their convenient time. This provides a unique opportunity for the students to have a glimpse of how the real professional environment works.
The mentoring session is conducted in a batch of 4-5 students per batch aligned to a mentor.
The students are aligned to a mentor having professional knowledge and experience in the profession which is aligning with both, students’ academics and their area of interests.
The program starts with an ice breaking session where both mentor and mentees get the opportunity to know each other. Students get an opportunity to conduct their SWOT analysis that help the mentors to understand the students better and work with them to help in working in areas of their Threats and weakness along with enhancing their strengths to turn into opportunities.
The students are given a problem statement at the beginning of the program relevant to the current industry scenario. Both the mentor and mentees discuss on understanding the problem, prepare a detailed root cause analysis and then come up with an preventive or mitigation plan.
At the end of 2 months program students get the opportunity to present their work on the PM forum platform. This gives the students the confidence to speak and present in front of a sizable audience, thus improving their soft skills during the program.
Disclaimer:
We would like to clarify that we in no way charge neither the students nor the Institutes any money instead we do expect both the institutes and students to spend required time to get full benefit from these programs.
Also, we do not promise or offer any jobs or campus placements. Instead provide a platform for the students, institutes and corporates to connect and network more openly thus opening new opportunities for the students and institutes for internships and campus recruitments with these corporates.
